Velleity/banshee

Bathilda the Banshee had one velleity: to sing the National Anthem at Yankee Stadium. She knew her wish was just a whim, for the singers chosen for that honor were Top-4o hit makers and not ancient phantoms.

Phil’s biggest issue with Steve was that he sung like a banshee in the shower in the middle of the night, yet his wish for him to stop was just a velleity. Secretly he admired Steve’s abandon, as his own attempts at singing in the shower quickly turned into an awkward whistle.

It is Ryan’s velleity and lack of spirit that make me doubt him most; I’d perhaps fancy the idea of respecting him if he’d give into his desires to let it all hang out in the clerrrb with a gaggle of wildly gay banshees like I think his inner gender nonconforming child would like.
