Apoplectic/muffle

Mendl had a difficult time trying to muffle the sound of her first angry customer–Sir Franklin Rosenbum–who was so angry at the lack of clotted cream that he had a fit of apoplectic rage and overturned a table.

Mr. Diapers was positively apopleptic after noticing that his one clean diaper had somehow been removed from its fine leather case, but muffled his whimpers when he realized that Mrs. Diapers had taken it out to photograph it for her latest art project titled “Diapers Diapers Everywhere, Diapers Diapers In Your Hair.”
