Perspicacious/overture

We had just finished the overture when a rather perspicacious someone finally noticed that the gent playing second violin was not Bertram Rolland, renowned violinist, but a swarthy, slimy dolphin wearing a fake mustache and monocle.

–Cindy Capleton

A more perspicacious audience would have noticed at the overture that it wasn’t really Mozart conducting the philharmonic but instead an imposter named Lady Mendl in a ruffled shirt and powdered wig living out her fantasy to break free from the shackles of the tea industry to shine in the rays of the opera.
-Gladys Potter
