Viscid/far-fetched

Though Wesley’s story was a bit far-fetched, Betsy’s undying love for him let her do nothing but believe that he spoke the truth when he said that the only reason he was late for their date was the viscid plant from his mother’s garden that had struck him down with it’s slimy adhesive branch from which it really did take him an hour to break free.

I knew it was a far-fetched story to tell, but I had to have something to corroborate my story, so I told my mom that the viscid substance (half-fried pancakes, batter still sticky) found on the ceiling was thrown there to ward off a rascally gnome.

Forever in denial…..the notion of aging is far-fetched and for others. The viscid mass has been lifted from this dysfunctional orb, and the result is miraculous. (Aaaaaahhhh, there she is).
